One price, four promotion levels, and one worked example that shows what is left of a sale.
Short answer
The price you set on the calendar is the price the buyer pays, whether they are a traveller or a trade buyer. Nothing is added to it. Our commission is a percentage that comes out of that price, and the percentage depends on the promotion level the product is on. Open Promotion to see the four plans, Standard, Featured, Showcase and Spotlight, what each costs you and what each shows, and to choose one for each product.
Open Promotion
It shows the four plans with the percentage each one costs you, and every product you have with the plan it is on.
Read what each plan shows
Standard (level 1) lists the product on the marketplace. Featured (level 2) adds a Featured label. Showcase (level 3) also puts it among the first products on the home page. Spotlight (level 4) also gives it a place in the home page's spotlight section.
Choose a plan for each product
The wizard asks for one before a product is created. Change it afterwards from the list beside the product on Promotion, which saves as you choose, or on the product's own page.
Check what you receive
The table shows the price, the commission at the chosen level and what is left for you, on the cheapest ticket of each product.
If you read one page in this help centre, this is the one. Everything else in the panel is mechanics. This is the money.
The rate you put on the calendar is the price. A traveller booking on the marketplace pays it, and a trade buyer booking through an agency or an API pays the same figure. We do not add a markup to it and we do not add our commission on top of it.
| Step | Set by | Example on level 1 |
|---|---|---|
| Your price | You, on the calendar | $100.00 |
| What the buyer pays | The same figure | $100.00 |
| Our commission | The promotion level of the product | - $15.00 |
| What you receive | Follows from the two above | $85.00 |
The percentage in the example is an illustration. The Promotion page shows the percentages that apply to your account.
Price for what you want to be paid by the buyer
Because nothing is added, the figure you enter is the figure on the listing. If you need to receive a particular amount after commission, set your price with the commission in mind.
Each product is on one of four plans. A higher plan costs a larger share of each sale and puts the product in front of more travellers. Every plan includes what the one below it gives.
| Plan | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Standard, level 1 | A listing on the marketplace, sold to every trade buyer. |
| Featured, level 2 | A Featured label that makes it stand out wherever it is listed. |
| Showcase, level 3 | The Featured label, and a place among the first products on the home page. |
| Spotlight, level 4 | All of that, and a place in the home page's spotlight section. |
The plan is chosen per product, not per account. A product on Standard is found by the travellers who search for it. One on Showcase or Spotlight is put in front of everybody who opens the marketplace, which is the quickest way for it to be seen.
You can move a product to another plan whenever you like, and the change applies at once: the next sale is made on the new plan.
A booking keeps the level it was sold on. Moving a product from level 3 to level 1 today does not change the commission on a booking taken yesterday, and neither does a later change to what a level costs.
Your share of each sale is paid into your wallet. The Wallet screen says when: as soon as a booking is paid for, once it can no longer be cancelled for a refund, or after the travel date, depending on the terms agreed for your account. Until then the sale is shown as on its way.
To take money out, add the bank account we pay into on the Wallet screen, then request a withdrawal for any amount up to what is available. Withdrawals are paid in US dollars, so the account must be able to receive them. The amount is set aside at once, our team sends it, and the request is marked as paid with the transfer's reference.
If a booking is cancelled and refunded after its share reached your wallet, what went back to the buyer comes back out of your wallet, and our commission on it is returned too. If you have already withdrawn it, the wallet shows a negative balance that your next sales make up.
Open any booking from the Bookings screen and it shows what you are owed for it, the promotion level the product was on when it sold, and the commission that level took. If the numbers ever do not reconcile, that is a bug and we want to hear about it rather than have you work around it.
No. A booking keeps the level and the commission it was sold on. A new level applies to sales made from the moment you choose it.
The Promotion page shows the percentage each level costs you, and every booking shows the level and the commission it was made on, so you can check rather than trust.
No. There is one price for each ticket and everybody pays it. The commission is the same percentage whoever the buyer is.
No. The price you set is the price on the listing. Our commission comes out of it.
Yes. The plan belongs to the product, so each one can be on whichever of the four suits it.
